Our school provides students with the latest educational system. It is widely known that the school has been a pioneer in the reconstruction of the medical curriculum in Korea that began in the early 1990s. We were one of the first schools to adopt Block Lecture and PBL (Problem Based Learning) in our curriculum. We also reinforced our clinical education by using OSCE (Objective Structured Clinical Examination) and CPX (Clinical Performance eXamination). Moreover, we provide our students with opportunities to participate in research, held either within the school setting or in colleges abroad, during vacations.
The students at our school receive clinical clerkship training at Kyungpook National University Hospital, which is one of the highest level medical institutions that has the newest facilities and excellent medical teams. With the establishment of the new branch hospital in Chilgok, we are looking forward to providing our students with a wider range of clinical opportunities.
We also pay attention to students' needs. In addition to the school scholarship, we also offer financial assistance from outside sources. The dormitory, Myeong-E Gwan, situated near the campus, is equipped with newly-built facilities and accommodates students from other regions. The second campus, planned to open in 2013, will help us provide a better environment and more opportunities for our students.
As the result of our efforts, we now have about 7,800 alumni who are working in diverse fields, such as medical practice, education, research, and public health, both inside and outside of Korea. Our alumni¡¯s achievements, which inspires our students to become better practitioners and researchers, have contributed to Korea¡¯s modern and contemporary medical development.
We will not dwell on our proudest moments in the past. We are going to actively prepare a new blueprint to step up as a world-class medical education and research institution. The professors and researchers of our school are continuously devoting themselves to creative research, and until now have announced numerous studies that received recognition in the world. By raising research funds from the Korean government, supporting human and material resources and building infrastructure, our school provides researchers with an optimal atmosphere where they can produce their best results.
Our doors are open to all excellent prospective students and researchers from around the world.
