Introduction

The Department of Biochemistry and Cell Biology has taken the important role as a leader for the creation of highly motivated research environment in the School of Medicine, Kyungpook National University. The professors and researchers of the Department of Biochemistry and Cell Biology have been continuously devoting themselves in the creative researches and produced highly acclaimed scientific results nationally and internationally. By hosting research funds from Korean government, including national research laboratory (NRL), world class university (WCU), R&D Cluster, BK21 Plus program, and Medical Research Center (MRC), the Department has continued to provide researchers with the atmosphere where they can produce their best results. Moreover, we continue to ensure the recruitment of PhD students, post-docs, and research professors in order to continue the internationally recognized studies. Currently, 6 professors, 6 research professors, 10 post-docs, 1 teaching assistant, 10 PhD students, 20 MSc students, 2 researcher and technician, and 1 secretary are our family members in the Department.
